simple, right?

With little time to decorate this holiday season, this “tree” was my solution. #minimalist.
Materials:
yarn
pushpins
construction paper
Tools:
scissors (to cut out star)
Optional:
Use mini clothespins to hang holiday cards on your tree.
Enjoy, and happy holidays!

…And that’s a wrap! My 2012 Holiday Craft Fair Tour is officially over! I’m so happy to have done my last holiday show in San Francisco. It’s nice to know that of all the places I’ve traveled to this season, my home city is still where I get the most love and support. Thanks to all of you, especially friends and fam, who came to visit Booth #35 this weekend.
As usual, it was a blast holding down the fort with the lovely Vee Caragay of Little Honey Vee. We’ve certainly mastered the art of covering one another for potty breaks! Also, behind every good maker, there is typically a loving and supportive partner. So a very special shout out to my fiance, Jaymar, for the constant support – for lugging around all things heavy, expertly wielding the screwdriver and allen wrench, studying my inventory and practices in order to relieve me, buying me lunch, reminding me that we’re in an “investment” period, and for never doubting my talent or ability to handle my business.
It wasn’t too long ago that I only dreamed of being part of a show like Renegade Craft Fair or Unique LA, so to have participated in these shows (and to have been successful!) is truly a blessing. Releasing fear, building self-confidence, and making a commitment to one’s small business isn’t easy. So, if nothing more, I’m just happy I went for it.
Cheers to you this holiday season and here’s to a golden new year!
1. Dianne Que & Little Honey Vee = Hustler Extraordinaires! // 2-7. Peeks into my mighty set-up. // 8-10. Little Honey Vee’s goodies // 11. Like mother like daughter (no, we didn’t plan to wear matching Tureaud Chains) // 12. My fambam rocking my knit goodies dating all the way back to 2004. // 13-16. Friends, old and new, coming by to visit and support! // 17. Look at all those people trying on my stuff (you can tell I’m not used to this, huh?)!

Woweee. My 2012 Holiday Craft Fair Tour will soon be coming to a close! After making stops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Portland, I couldn’t be happier to end the season in my very own stomping grounds: San Francisco.
The SF Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Show has been one of my FAVORITE shows to attend (as a shopper/consumer) for the past several years, so its definitely a dream come true to be vending here this holiday season. I will be sharing a booth with one of my favorite playmates, Vee Caragay of Little Honey Vee, so please do come by and boogie with us! I will be carrying two BRAND NEW products that are not yet on my website: The Bundler (a double-wrap infinity scarf) and The Gypsy (a sassy knit headband), so do come through to check out the goods (this’ll be your last chance before the holidays)!

Wow. The DIY/craft/handmade scene in Portland is simply incredible. I feel all the more fortunate to have been one of the vendors selected to participate in last weekend’s Crafty Wonderland (Super Colossal Holiday Show). Thanks to everyone who came to visit my booth! I seemed to have taken more photos of the yummy food I ate in Portland rather than at the show itself (check out my instragram: dianneque), but I would love to introduce you to some of the amazing makers I met (and admired from afar):
Diana Shreiber of Moss Handmade // intricately crocheted jewelry (will be at Renegade SF!)
Erica Brotzman of Thorn & Wynn Designs // geo necklaces + other hand-crafted jewelry
Lea and Avery of Nell & Mary // amazing textiles and handmade home goods (will be at Renegade SF!)
Three Bad Seeds // quirky + modern graphic pillows
Ilfant Press // letterpress stationery and printed items
1. My cousin Alicia drove all the way down from Washington to support the cause. // 2. I found this Crafty Wonderland sandwich board ad while wandering the streets of Portland! // 3-4. My might booth set-up before & after. // 5. The tiniest lumberjacks in the universe.
NEXT UP: My last show of the season – Renegade Craft Fair San Francisco 12/15-16!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the 5th Annual Unique LA Holiday Show this past weekend! I had an amazing time with over 350 other independent artists and designers! From what I hear, this show gets bigger and better every year and I’m so happy to have been a part of it. I even debuted a new product, “The Gypsy,” a turban-style knit headband that definitely turned some heads (or was it just my beautiful friend, Loralei, modeling it above?). Special thanks to my family and friends who came to visit and support me. More photos to come, but for now, enjoy these:
1. Loralei rocking my brand new “Gypsy” headband in eggplant. // 2 – 4. My mighty table set-up. // 5-6. Mix-and-match pom pom station! // 7. The ever-so-fashionable Francis sporting the Wayfarer rope necklace.
Note: The Gypsy and The Wayfarer are not yet in my online shop, but if you’re interested in them, just email me and I can give you all the deets!
